Virginia Gold Orchard is a family owned business established by Paul and YoungSuk Estabrook. Together with their two children, they decided to start an Asian Pear orchard in 1990. Asian pears are unique, but what makes Virginia Gold Orchard special is the fact that its "home grown" pears are considered by many to be the best they have ever tasted.

 

This family business that virtually started from scratch has become internationally known as having the best tasting Asian pears. The orchard presently consists of about 4,000 trees from sixteen different varieties selected for production. The Estabrooks have planted a two acre section for testing and for sharing information cooperatively with the Department of Agriculture Research Station. This "testing" area also contains over 25 different named varieties and several original hybrids bred by YoungSuk Estabrook.
