Virginia Gold Orchard is a family owned business established by Paul and YoungSuk Estabrook. Together with their two children, they decided to start an Asian Pear orchard in 1990. Asian pears are unique, but what makes Virginia Gold Orchard special is the fact that its pears are certified organic and are still able to meet Virginia's Finest standards. |

This family business that virtually started from scratch has become internationally known. The orchard presently consists of about 4,000 trees from sixteen different varieties selected for production. The Estabrooks have planted a two acre section for testing and for sharing information cooperatively with the Department of Agriculture Research Station. This "testing" area also contains over 25 different named varieties and several original hybrids bred by YoungSuk Estabrook. |
