Thank you everyone for a great 2023 season, there were so many exciting new developments!

Our new Winery Tasting Room is NOW OPEN!

Hours for the Tasting Room change seasonally, please check the Winery tab for the most current hours.

Come enjoy award winning dry and semi sweet wines, handcrafted sangrias and a relaxed farm atmosphere with gorgeous views. Located right next door to our farm shop.

Our U-Pick Flower Field has been a hit all summer long, but it is now CLOSED for the season. We will reopen it next year sometime in May.

Asian Pears are also, now SOLD OUT. This is for the on site farm store, as well as for mail orders.

We still have amazing local apples available in our farm store and expect to have them through Christmas.

We also have our Raw Honey, handcrafted Jams, Syrup, and other delicious products available at our self-serve farm shop.

Farm Shop is currently open 7 days a week, 10am-6pm

Winery Tasting Room is currently open Thurs-Sun 12-6pm

This year the shop will continue to be a “self serve” set up, much like the “honor system” roadside fruit stands we grew up with long ago.

When you visit the store, fruit will be available in glass door fridges already bagged in different sizes and different variety mixes. All jar products (like honey and jam) will be set out on the table for you to help yourself.

When your ready to check out, there will be a large menu board to help you tally up your total. You can then either leave cash in the cash box, or use our iPad to do a self check out if you need to make a credit card payment…don’t worry it’s super easy!

We will be available on site most of the time if you need any help.

Virginia Gold Orchard is a small family-run farm dedicated to holistically growing the very best tasting Asian pears.  We also sell locally cultivated Wild-Flower Honey, hand-pressed Apple Cider Vinegar, and delicious homemade Asian pear Marmalade.

Asian pears are unique, but what makes Virginia Gold Orchard special is the love and care placed into each individual fruit. Our by-hand practices, unique micro-climate, and distinctive growing techniques yields the very best tasting pears.  Many other pears - often shipped in from outside the United States - are picked early, days or weeks before they are truly ripe! We always hand-pick our pears at the peak of ripeness, allowing the warm Virginia sun and cool Blue Ridge Mountain air to give our pears their full, unique flavor.

You might notice that some of our pears have small nicks, spots, or marks. We affectionately call them beauty marks, as we cultivate our fruit to be the very best tasting, sometimes at the expense of their good looks. Despite their blemishes, we promise that every pear you taste will be perfectly ripe, extremely juicy, and always satisfying.
